    As I remember – I joined to the GENI (by paying) on 26/8/2008.
    Do I have to pay more if I want to continue my “membership” in the GENI?
    And – in any case – why I can not use the merging or removing service in the Geni?
    Or, maybe I didnt understood yours informations?

      If you were a Plus or Pro subscriber before these membership changes, then your subscription rates are grandfathered.

          This means that your old subscription rates will remain the same if you were a Plus or Pro subscriber before the price change.

            This means your Pro subscription is grandfathered at $12.95/month. We no longer offer monthly Pro subscriptions.     I joined Geni on October 28, 2008, and then I paid for a Pro Lifetime, which was more expensive than a Pro for a year at that time. 

    Now I see that you want USD 9.50 a month for a Pro membership.

    But since I already paid for a Pro Lifetime, I hope that the monthly charge is not something I have to pay for?

      If you are already have a Lifetime Pro account, then you do not need to pay any additional fees.

    Ok, im a free user and have added thousands of profiles, will you delete my profiles so i keep the limit of 100 profiles? If yes i would like to be notified of this!

      No we will not delete any profiles. The 100 profile limit refers to the number of profiles basic users may add to the tree. If your tree is beyond the basic limit, then you may upgrade to Plus or Pro to continue adding to your tree.

    I see there is a new cost of $5/month for PLUS. But I didn’t see anything price break, if you purchased a years membership. Do you have that Option?

      You can still access all the information you have entered for free. You can also still edit any profile you manage or collaborate on. However, if your tree has exceeded the 100 profile limit, then you may upgrade to Plus or Pro to continue adding profiles to your tree.

    I think it’s unfair that you lock me out of my account and force me to upgrade and pay because according to you I have added over 100 profiles.  When I joined 2-3 years ago there was no rule like that it was just free!  I’m glad that facebook does not do that.  I will just quit geni and make my own website!

      Then i can recommend TNG ( http://lythgoes.net/genealogy/software.php ) It cost almost nothing and is one of the greatest if not the best tool to create you own website.
      I stopped using Geni after their “update”.
      Shame on you Geni!

      Please note you still have access to all the data you have entered and you can still edit any profile you manage or collaborate on.

    I paid for a month’s access to PRO.And found my one-time payment had become an automatic one,so I closed the account.I was quite surprised to see the whole family tree disappear though!
    Can I re-access my BASIC account?

      Trevor, it sounds like you closed your account rather than cancel your automatic renewal. Please note that once you have closed your account, you are required to ask a relative to re-invite you back to your profile. Otherwise, if you were the only active person in your tree, you will be required to start over.

      Stein, $255 is the price for a lifetime Plus subscription.

      As you can see, a lifetime Pro subscription is $417.00. Since you are already a Pro subscriber, you only have to pay the difference, which in your case is $321.96.

    how disappointed i am……talk about being forced to do something that does not make me happy…… joined Geni when you first started….was a great idea………now it’s all about the money……..for shame, for shame

    I’ve been with Geni since 2007 and this really disappointed me. You can essentially cut off all contributions from my family.
