Geni on Facebook

Did you know that Geni is on Facebook? Well, now you do. Up to this point, our page was main just links to the blog, but that is changing now that I’m here to handle social media. We’ll be doing cool give aways, feedback questions, and Q & As exclusively on the Facebook page in the coming weeks and months. We want you to feel connected to Geni because our greatest resource is you.

Are you excited? I know the whole Geni team is. We’ve been dying to give you all of the content we can, and that is finally become a reality. So, what do you really want on the Facebook page? Polls? Videos? Let us know by dropping a comment below this post.

I think the most useful thing Geni could do on Facebook would be to make it easy to invite FB people to claim a specific profile on the tree. Facebook is a fantastic resource for finding somewhat distant relatives. I’ve used it to find relatives from all over the world.nnI know that Geni had a FB initiative a couple of years ago and abandoned it, but if you’re getting back into the Facebook game, it would be great, if I find my third cousin on FB, to tell her “here is your Geni profile” and allow her to claim it right there.

I tried to link my facebook account to my geni account but it linked with the Facebook account that was logged in and that happened to be my husband’s account. I have tried several times to unlink them and still have not been able to. In the directions it says to go to your application settings in Facebook and hit the X near Geni. I did that and it is no longer on the list however Geni still says a different Facebook account is list with this Geni account.
