TelGen’s World Family Tree App Now Available

Today, TelGen announced the release of their new World Family Tree app, which enables you to browse your Geni family tree from your mobile device. Supported platforms include iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android devices.

 

Pedigree View

The app caches your family tree data locally, which will help you access your tree faster once it has downloaded. Now all users can easily browse their family tree in a variety of ways from the convenience of a phone or iPad. If you’re a Pro user, you can add and edit information on your family tree.

You can buy the app for just $6.99 from Apple’s App Store, the Android Market and SlideME.

The app includes the following features:

  • Family View, Pedigree View, Descendant View and Timeline
  • Index, searchable by First Name, Last Name or Geni Id
  • Birth, baptism, death and burial events
  • Geolocation of event locations
  • Pictures
  • Documents
  • Bookmarks
  • Portrait and Landscape mode on all views
  • Full screen support on the iPad.
  • Data may be created and updated by Geni Pro users

      We’re keen to develop and improve the World Family Tree app to meet the needs of Geni users, so would welcome any comments on the current version or suggestions for new features.

    Nice try, but the search function doesn’t work at all, whether the person you’re searching for is in the family or not, unless you search by ID number. It just spins and spins, and you can’t cancel the search. I feel like I just wasted seven bucks. Why can’t Geni develop its own iPad app — I’m sure you’d do a better job.

    We’re keen to fix any bugs but can only do so if users report them to us, either direct to support@telgen.co.uk or preferably via the forum at http://www.telgen.co.uk/wft/forum.  This is the first time we’ve been made aware of this particular problem and will investigate.

    1. Can I *upload* pictures from my iphone to Geni using the TelGen app?
    2. Does anyone have any news about the possible creation of a Geni-created iPhone app?
