Family lore is that one my ancestral relatives was a (New England /? Massachusetts) sea captain who married a native Hawaiin woman. Possibly scandalous here, but resulted in a prominent Hawaiin family. All I know is that 40 years ago they corresponded with a relative Martha Lowe (?) in Massachusetts who was related to my grandfather Charles Wood Luce Jr. Also a male of that family enrolled at MIT, Cambridge MA in 1966.

I know this is an odd discussion, but I'm new here and always curious.
Thanks for any help.

Known families on that side Cunningham, Newbury, Hersey, but my info. is very limited.

Do you have a possible geni profile or a specific name /date for an ancestor?

It's a juicy story, I'd dig in if there were more details.

I have a Cunningham line but not New England; they were wild Scots who came to VA around 1700.

Hi, Thanks for your note. I guess I can ask MIT if they can provide names of students from that year fom Hawaii and will also go to the Cemetary to look for more family surnames. Unfortunately that's where the folks who had the information are now. Seems like this can be a bit of fun.

I love detective stories. Can you put anything in chronological order? Start backwards (from yourself).
