Dr John Aleyn who died in 1490 features in the Paston Letters ed Norman Davis pub OUP
He was of Norwich and Cambridge. He appears in several letters as an oppenent of Falstolf and a friend of Heydon. He was clerk of the signet to the Queen in 1465, lieutenant for the Constable in judging overseas cases in 1469 & 1478-76, and several times M.P. He died in 1490.
