I am an archaeologist at Tel Aviv University. My research also entails looking at the archaeologists who excavated a site in the past.
I came across Muriel's name. She was the artist on-site during the 1930's excavation of Samaria-Sebaste. According to my records she received a scholarship from Sir Robert Mond (the founder of the British School of Archaeology in Jerusalem and the brother of Alfred Mond) which enabled her to join the team led by John Crowfoot. I have a picture of the team and I believe that the picture shows Muriel.
I would love to have that confirmed, plus if you have any other information regarding Muriel's work as an artist on a dig.
Thanks

Unfortumately, I do not have the information. Perhaps Israel Agranat might have some information as he is related as well to the Bentwich family through the Friedlaenders.
