Where did all the interesting merges go?

Ever since Geni changed its policy there has been a remarkable decline in new interesting ancestor merge suggestions. Where there once popped ud several now and then, now this has almost come to a halt. Only stupid merge attempts suggesting wild merges of common name combinations like 30+ "Mary Jones" occur.

Has anyone else noticed this? And what is the cause of it?

The obvious answer must be that non-pros can no longer either instigate or accept merges so this will not only slow down the merges that they start but Pro users won't start the ball rolling if they think a non-pro may put an unintentional block on the merge.
