We all have 16 gg-grandparents, but I've only found 14 of mine.

I'm dead-ending on g-grandma Catherine A Trumbull, b. 1844, NY. She married Hamilton Shores (b. Sep 1844, Napoleon, Jackson Co, MI, d. 25 Feb 1904) in 1865. I have no parents for Catharine. Can anyone help?

This could give you a lead on where to start looking:

Please note that the document spells her name Trumble and states that she was born in 1847, not 1844
This document tells Nov 1844 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MS9J-WPN if it is the same person.

This document, of it is her tells: residence: , Hudson, New Jersey when she was 13, may be New York is wrong?

Fantastic! The NJ record is questionable, but the 1900 Census is 100% her. The Virginia marriage is also near 100%. Thank you so much! Maybe I'll get this brick wall broken yet!

Though he (Hamilton Shores) was born in Michigan, his family came there from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. So him marrying on the east coast is not a stretch.
