Why did Robert Wright travel from Scotland to America?

We think that he was the (paternal) cousin of Alexander Wright. Robert's father was Daniel brother to Duncan who was father of Alexander. We think he came over to work for his cousin Alexander in Clinton, MA.

We thought that Agnes and Robert traveled together as husband and wife from Scotland, but recently found a marriage certificate issued in Massachusetts that shows that they married there on Christmas Day 1850.

We are unsure if Agnes already resided in Massachusetts when Robert came over from Scotland, or if they traveled together.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have some info on Robert 1828. Not sure how much help it will be .
census, arrival dates. Should be your Robert as Ceredo was his place of death and Agnes Allen was his wife...Let me know...ttfn
