"1 updated project" - how do you find out what this refers to?

This is the second time I have gotten the notice "1 updated project" - and when I click on it (the link/ that blued message) I get to a long list of projects - all projects?? -- but how do I discover the one I am following that was updated? And how do I discover what was updated in it?
