That's about the limit of my German and i've probably spelt it wrong and used bad grammar.

My enquiry revolves around my great grandfather Josef, the verbal histroy that i have from my father is that Joseph was in the German army, lost a leg at Verdun and recieved the Iron Cross.
Does anyone know of an online source that i can search German military records to try and trace this story? In English bitte.
