Herman is my husband's grandfather. He immigrated to the US and settled in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He told our family that his mother died shortly after he was born. So I looked for his birth in the Parish Register and found him. he was born 9 December 1879 to Anna Toreni (per the register) Barthalomeausdtr and Martin Hermansen. I also discovered that Ann died on 20 December 1879. so Herman is not Karoline's son, though he was raised by her and Herman named my husband's mother Margaret Caroline Nafstad. Others that immigrated were Hans Oscar Nafstad Born 6 Nov 1862 Ullensaker, Akershus, Norway and Died 1 jan 1922 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Knut Martinsen Nafstad - Changed his name to Knute Nafsted and lived in Alaska. Ole Jakob Martinsen Nafstad also moved to the US and lived in Alaska for a time. I don't have much on him right now but I think he remained in the US. Do any of you know anything about any of the other children immigrating? and about when?
