Unlike family discussions, public discussions are made available to search engines, so that people across the Internet can find and contribute to your topics of interest.

You can follow discussions you're not actively participating in. This allows you to watch topics and get notifications when new posts are made.

To tag a discussion with a profile, just type the @ symbol and start typing the name of a profile.

You can forward public discussions to users who are not members of Geni. Unlike family discussions, no account is necessary to read public discussions.

When a discussion is tagged with a profile, it automatically appears on that profile, providing a complete loop for content creation and discovery.
