Edit, Tree, More denotations in Geni name boxes

Why do the Edit and Tree buttons disappear from certain members of my family tree? More and more edit and tree buttons are disappearing from names in the tree..especially from those names who have joined the tree recently. Why? Even my own "tree" button has disappeared. What did I do??
