Hi Carole, I notice that the Wikipedia articles references thepeerage.com (amongst other references) and thepeerage.com references Burke's Peerage, which would tend to indicate that thepeerage.com might be more reliable. I haven't bought my stirnet.com membership yet but you can see the pages for a few seconds and William is included in there: http://www.stirnet.com/main/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=79 Stirnet's terms and conditions forbid you to pass on any information in there so forgive me if I do not breach the t&cs here! Stirnet seems to reference a book called "The House Of Stanley" |
