Her name was Martha Ngatai and she was from Taumarunui. There is a little confusion here.
Wiremu Hippolite first common law wife was Martha Ngatai mother of Ingrid and Ihakara. She died and Uncle Bill remarried Glenda Stanfield - mother to William and Joseph.
Arthur Hounsell married Shirley Bennett. This is the only reference to a Shirley that I know in our line.
