Saloma's parents were James Madison Day & Elizabeth Jane (Betty) Hobbs. She was born in Robertson Co., TX. She is a direct descendant of John Day & Elizabeth Mason who sailed on the Ship "The London Merchant"- to Surry Co., VA in 1620. Her paternal grandmother was Sophia Boddie Day- descendant of John William Boddie of North Carolina who arrived from England in Isle of Wight, VA in 1661. He married Elizabeth Bennett. The Day's, Bennetts & Boddies are connected early in Isle of Wight, VA.
