The first time I remember meeting my Aunt Jeannie I was at my grandparents house in Cedar Rapids, IA. She came into the kitchen and hollered little Johnnie, then came running over to me. I backed against the wall by the kitchen table, but she bent low and started to smother me in kisses, which as a young boy (age 3-4) I found uncomfortable. I love this memory!

Yes, Aunt Jeannie was a very hands on loving person...She loved all you kids so much and was a very special Aunt..She was very special to me and it was sad for many years when we lost our friendship. We were able to become good friends again before she passed away. Jeannie and her husband Richard rode their motorcycle to my house here in Tecumseh in '88 and I had a new washer and dryer and he installed it for me..The last visit I had with Jennie was when Robyn graduated. We did keep in touch by phone..She will always be special to me!!!!

I shared my first memory of Aunt Jeannie on the " open mike" at her funeral.
Our stories are so much the same, no doubt because that was just how Jeannie was. I remember Uncle Dick and Aunt Jeannie were just getting ready to leave our place. I was barely 4 and Jeannie took hold of me and gave me a great big hug and smooch on my cheek. It was almost more than I could take...I still remember her perume. After she left my sister, Twila Lou, told me " you have bright red lip stick on your cheek." I remember running in and looking in the mirror and being sooo embarrassed. I couldn't get it off fast enough.
