Hello all Geniers,

I have started a project to work on the people described in the Scandinavian sagas - in particular Snorre's sagas and the Icelandic sagas.

The goal is to make sure every person mentioned in the sagas get on Geni *once* - with a notation in their "about" field saying which saga they're mentioned in, and what the saga says about them - while keeping guesswork and undocumented statements to a minimum.

If you want to help - drop me a line or reply here!

The project is here:

Welcome!

These profiles have the coolest icons. Can I join the art team and read along? Is there a good on line English translation source?

Added, and welcome! We'll see what we can do about English resources.... projects are still growing up, I hope we can have discussions attached to the project soon.

Sounds like serious fun so I'm dropping a line of interest.

Erica: the primary sources for the sagas listed on the project page have English translations (originally written in Norse/Icelandic) - check them out if you have the time, they're quite a read :-)

I have a copy of the selected Sagas of the Icelanders (published by Penguin - on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Sagas-Icelanders-Penguin-Classics-Deluxe/dp/0...), so I can help out here a bit if needed. Don't speak Icelandic though. :(
