I'm trying to find documentary evidence of the relationship between Alexander and his son William. I've seen conflicting information indicating that Alexander and Marion Sterling had only one daughter, Jean, and no other surviving issue. (The Chiefs of Colquhoun and Their Country by William Fraser)
I, too, am looking for direct evidence of a connection between Alexander and William and have had no luck. I also have been reading the book, the Chiefs of Colquhoun by Fraser. Fascinating. My great-grandmother was a Calhoun and she married a Bailey. Please let me know if there is any information you have found since your first posting.
