not so sure how to approach this. i'd love to see folks add profiles of people who've they've identified as being participants, present or attendees of the Filed of the Cloth of Gold. this can be a challenge, as conflicting anecdotal documentation is widely available, however, with a little due diligence one can corroborate if using some of the better sources. i have found that the following resource is a great primary source of much of what transpired during the reign of King Henry VIII; http://www.british-history.ac.uk For example, i found that Charles Brandon: Duke of Suffolk attended, by reviewing this documentation: http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=65441&strqu... *** Note: you can actually find most of the goings on in Henry VIII's court, as it is contained in searchable transcribed text at this site. pretty amazing actually*** www.british-history.ac.uk/period.aspx?tme=8 i've also found supporting evidence, say in the case of Sir William Coffyn, by researching at Google Books and Archive.org. or course, i enjoy tedious research et al. thoughts? insults? cake recipes? |
