http://www.ourherald.com/news/2001-11-22/People/p01.html Paini is the son and grandson of Italian-American stone carvers. His grandparents came from Pogno, in northern Italy, northwest of Milan, and his father was born just two days after the family’s arrival in the United States in 1907. Paini isn’t sure, but believes his father may have been born on Ellis Island itself, which at that time was America’s principal immigrant reception center. |
