My husband was also a William Maher. His full name was William Paul Maher, born March 2, 1932; died April 18, 2005. He is buried in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. I would like to correspond with anybody else who is researching his family tree, no matter how distantly they are related.

I have a few Maher ancestors. Keigan and his daughter Diane (Maher). They were from Ireland.

Marius, my husband's Maher ancestors also came from Ireland. County Tiperarry (not sure of the spelling). They were Peter Maher, his wife, Catherine Welch Maher, at least two of Peter's brothers, and Catherine's brother, Patrick Welch. Not sure when they came to American, but Peter and Catherine's son, William Francis, was born in St. Joseph County, Michigan.

You wouldn't happen to have any Cunningham ancestors (from Scotland)? My and some relatives are doing a project on them.
