How to change a profile

My father died last June. I've attempted to change his profile, but it doesn't give me an option to add a date of death. I'm able to put it into his timeline, but it doesn't show on the tree and today the news feed posted that its his birthday and we can send a gift or message.

If anyone can assist me, I would appreciate it.

A quick check shows that he was a registered Geni user, and if you know his login and password you have to log in and close the account, where you can give the reason that he is deceased (and in any case you will be able to edit his profile to add the date and burial when the account is closed).

If you don't know the login you can send help@geni.com a mail (or submit a help ticket if you enter one of the sub-categories of the help link at the bottom of each page), explaining the situation and they will close the account for you. Since you are linked in as close as his daughter they will not ask if someone else can verify this.
