Easy notification of a need to merge

I was doing a search on William B. Brown and got 25 hits. Two of the hits were obviously the same person ( William Patterson and ), however, not the one that I was searching for. My question is: Shouldn't there be an easy way to notify two profile managers about a specific need to merge their profiles?

We were actually discussing this just yesterday. We're planning on adding a "merge these profiles" option under the more actions menu on a profile. You would then enter the name, profile id, or URL of the other profile that is the same. This would bring up our standard compare profiles window. If you approve the merge, and you don't have permissions to merge them, it would notify the managers.

Might I suggest that the Merge Center be shown on the top (blue) line on the home page and all merge menu items should not be in drop down menus.
