Documentation?

Hi,
In researching my family history, I'm sure that this is at least a small piece of my family's stories, and I am curious how so many Jewish Spaniards ended up in northern Mexico/southern Texas.
Does anyone have any stories, documents or other information?

I was told that our family fled Spain. There was 3 brothers. One brother went to Brazil and the other 2 to Mexico
