Trying to trace my lineage back to Norway, but my grandfather is MIA :(

Can anyone provide information regarding my relatives Oivind Hermansen or Arna Hermansen (nee Arna Booth or Arna Boothe), his wife? They moved to New York around the 1940's and I am told they emigrated from Norway through Ellis Island in the United States.

I would really like to visit Norway after I finish graduate school and get in touch with them. I have put this off for far too long, mainly because our family has been in disarray for years, with everyone fighting with each other for some reason.
