HELP!

Geni users, if your ancestor was a Buffalo Solder of the Indian Wars period, please contact me. There is a wealth of information out there about the soldiers and their exploits, but very little about their families. Surely they had fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, wives and children. We need YOUR help to fill in the blanks on these courageous soldiers.

I just added Matthew Broderick, I mean:

Col. Robert Gould Shaw (USA)

To the http://www.geni.com/projects/Buffalo-Soldier project.

He deserves his own project -- 54th was the only all-black all volunteer brigade from MASS in Civel War. I don't know that he actually served in the Indian Wars.

I would have to watch the movie again to tell you the answer to that. :)

Thanks Maria, I removed him from the project.

Someone has done a nice bio of him on his overview. Sounds like all his military service was Civil War. Sounds like a wonderful guy. I think I would have had a crush on him if I had known him.
