Okay, a few translations, a bit of formating and a new hyperlink.
I think everything has worked as i intended.
If "my" translations are a bit off please let me know as i am using an internet translator.
BTW apparently Podgora roughly translates to english as "an area of land between the mountains and the ocean", sounds right to me, i hope to one day visit her.

If anyone is curious i have added hyperlinks for Lucic and Banovic (i dont have a "slavic" keyboard but can cut and paste where needed).

I went for Banovic because Milica Ban/Bann (Urlić) is the first name on the profiles list at the right of the page. However it quickly became evident that he is not the "originator" of this name by about 300 years, so i have no idea why he is in the profiles list, anyone? I also added "Bann" as a possible variation for this name.

I intend to list the various name forms first and then the oldest form i can find as the hyperlink.

Already i need advice :)
I wanted to put a hyperlink in for the Jakic family but i am uncertain which profile to target it at. @jakov lucic is the source of the name and his 7 children all had the anme Lucic Jakic, so who should i direct the hyperlink to?
Directing a hyperlink for Jakic to someone named Lucic would seem a little strange, however, which of the children deserves the title of being "first"? The eldest girl, Mande or Marko Bosna, the eldest boy?
Any advice appreciated.

So a partial answer to my earlier question is that people in the profiles list are NOT restricted to "family firsts" (why they are there i have no idea).
This means i have no reliable way of finding "family firsts", is there one or do i have to just trace trees backwards at random?

Milica Bann was there only temprarily - I will remove her, as per everything else, WELL done!
It is good to have you here, feel free to add whatever you need to a project, as long as the profiles themselves are not changed.
Try to include all of the hyperlinks you can, and for those that you are unsure, the others can help

Is the surname from a first name a Lucic "thing"?
The children of this gent, http://www.geni.com/people/Filip-Luci%C4%87/6000000007344074760?thr...
took up the surname Filipovic.
FYI, i've been thru the 42 profiles and made hyperlinks for them all (where applicable). I'm now going thru the list trying to find a profile for the originator, having mixed success. Some searches turn up no profiles, some turn up so many it is impossible to find a link to Podgora. Example = Botun, lots of Swedish profiles but no apparent link to us.

Do the simple ones first and then we can have a look
the list might not be accurate as i took it from some
website
you woud be better off looking at who your
first ancestors are

I was a little surprised at first going thru the profile list at just how many of them actually are my firsts. As the number grew i realised that expanding outwards every generation there is probably a point at which everyone in the village is an ancestor.
I've benn meaning to ask you, i am sure that at the start of the year the statistics in my profile had a number around 30,000 for blood relatives, this number has dropped down to 5,000, which seems to be a new "maximum". Did something change in our family tree or has Geni just changed the way that this stat is calculated/reported?

The later
it is good to have somone enthusiastic about
learning about it
trust me - almost everyone that ever lived in that
area is encountered for and as per size of
population, podgora used to be more important
in this region past
and also with bigger population so your bet
on whether that was a same person has maybe 10% chance of being correct
I think you asking these questions is very good
as it will be educational for others wondering about the same thing

I thought i'd have another go at this as i have some spare time on nightshift.
I've changed tactics a little in regards to my earlier question of who to link as an "original". I have just linked the named Rosdanic to a gent of the Marinovic family who's children took Rosdanic from his middle name Rosandin.
I will try and add him to the featured profles.
I'll also use the same method for the Jakic/Lucic split and anyothers i spot.

Alive people with claimed profiles can only follow projects or be collaborators

Okay, seems the easiest way to add a profile to a project is to use the Actions button on the project's page. Very simple and easy really.
