Mary Buckner (kingsbury)

Daughter of Major Julius J. B. and Jane C. Kingsbury. Only surviving sibling and sister of Colonel Henry W. Kingsbury (Union). Morally wounded in battle near Burnside bridge, Antietum 17 Sept 1862, by troops led by his Brother in law Brig. Gen David R. Jones (Confererate).
Henry W. Kingsbury and David R. Jones married sisters, and the daughters of Brig. Gen. Joseph P Taylor (USA).
Henry's wife Eveline (taylor) Kingsbury gave birth in December to a boy, 4 months after the loss of her husband and named him Henry after his father.
Brig Gen David R jones was said to have lost his will to fight after hearing the news after the battle of his brother in law Henry, and died of Heart failure in Jan 1863 only 5 months later.
As a retired Military and Decendent of the Kingsbury's, I come respect even more the hardships our fore fathers endoured to build this counrty.
