Handling Gravestone photos in Geni

I have a few questions about using gravestone photos in Geni.

1) Do most people upload them as pictures or documents?
2) I find that if I associate a gravestone with 2 people on it, I can't associate the picture with a death event or both people will be added to that event. Is there ant way around this?
