Hi, by choosing a Public discussion you've addressed this to millions of Geni users. I sure hope they don't all respond. :-)
If you're looking for your family, they're much more likely to see it if you start a discussion and next to the question "Who can see this discussion?" choose the radio button labeled "Only My Family Group"
