One thing we have found useful in Colonial America is starting geographically based projects to collect, correct, and extend profiles. Along with that, we create little histories of the place and era, and highlight families.

I have an excellent book on LIthuanian Jewish Communities and would be happy to contribute to such projects. I also know a lot of the recent websites related to some of these communities. And we could link to Shtetllinks of course.

Please tell us a little more about your book.
I wonder if it's the English translation of the four books named
יהדות ליטא

Nancy Schoenburg and Stuart Schoenburg authors. Jason Aronson Inc. 1996. Available in paperback. Yes, portions of this book are a translation of יהדות ליטא

They apparently did translations of Vol 3. I'll dig into their introduction a bit more and get back to you. I have used it a lot in grounding myself as to the geography and history of the shtetls my ancestors lived in. I used it and some other sources in the Margolis and Frankel family project.
