How/when does Geni pick up and suggest merge candidates

Hi,

I've been working on a particular branch of my family, and came across an "orphan" tree.
I created a profile similar to the person in the top of the orphan tree, and tried to avoid any conflicting info.

It's been a few days now, and Geni havent picked up on the match. Is there anything I can do to make it obvious that this is a duplicate?

It can take up to a week before new or modified profiles is indexed in the search engine.

If you have the link to both profiles why not send them to the managers and ask them to get merged or ask a curator to get them merged. Remember that only Pro users can see such tree matches, - they have to manually locate the profiles and make the merge.

Thanks for the quick response Bjørn. I guess Geni would eventually have picked up on this.

If I was administrator of both profiles, could I then have merged them without waiting for the duplicate notice from Geni?
