Peter came to Ohio from Washington Co., Pa., about 1818. Was a pioneer settler in Noble Co. Peter took up a tract of government land, heavily timbered, reclaiming the same from the wilderness and developing a good farm. He there made his home until his death at the age of 90 years. He was a man of prominence in his community, was a devoted member of the Methodist church and seved in various offices of local nature. The 1820 census for Morgan Co., Noble Twp., shows Peter Fogle with 1m-45, 4f-10, and 1f-45. This would have been his first marriage to Elizabeth Saliday.
The infromation on the second marriage is from Guernsey Co., Pioneers Marriages 1810-1830. He is shown in the 1870 Ohio Census, for Noble Twp., Noble Co., with Phebe and Mary Elizabeth, his daughter.This census indicated he was 83 years of age (b. 1787), however the marker in Fogle cemetery says 1785-1873.

Notes on Phoebe Elizabeth Fogle [Stephens]
1850 Census: Noble Twp., Morgan Co., Ohio lists Peter age 63, Phebe age 50, Mary age 38, James 17, George 14 & Peter 9.
1860 Census: Noble Twp., Noble Co., Ohio lists Peter age 71 farmer and Born in Virginia. Phebie 59 and Born in Pennsylvania. Mary age 49 also b.
Pennsylvania, Peter 20 and a Eliza E. Garunt 15. Mary is Peter's daughter from his previous marriage to Elizabeth Saliday.

yet one Phoebe Fogle, age 80 b Pa., MIL, is livingin the home of Samuel & Anna Cary, 1880 census, Cotton Hill Twp, Sangamon County, Illinois. It is
my conclusion that Pheobe died Sangamon Co.
1850 Census: Noble Twp., Morgan Co., Ohio lists Peter age 63, Phebe age 50, Mary age 38, James 17, George 14 & Peter 9.
1860 Census: Noble Twp., Noble Co., Ohio lists Peter age 71 farmer and Born in Virginia. Phebie 59 and Born in Pennsylvania. Mary age 49 also b.

Notes on John Fogle
Civil War Veteran
Some say he married Sarah Mahorn on May 11, 1825. However this would not fit with his age. More likely it was Rebecca Jane Bobinson whom he
married on May 9, 1850 in Morgan County.
Died unmaried
Child Levina dosenot appear on the 1860 Census of Noble Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. and Phebie C. as 9mos. old making the census taken in June of
1860. However, Levina is listed on the 1870 census as 18yrs. 1880 she is 28 yrs. and still at home with her mother.
The files show George born and married both in 1836. this cannot be correct. The only thing that might make sence is if his mother was Elizabeth
Saliday and he was a twin to Eliza Ann b. 3 oct 1816. This would make him 20 when he married in 1836.
Some say he married Catharine Mitzell on June 11, 1836 but the age dosen't fit. He moved to Kentucky and made his home there until his death.
Moved to Durango, Colorado
Also have died JUL 1901 in Caldell, Noble Co., Ohio
The 1880 census for Olive Twp., Noble Co., Ohio dosenot list a daughter Oprah? It dose however list a Henry Gregg 19 nephew, occupation Hosler,
and Charlotte L. Morris 24 neice, occupation Cook.

Notes on Annarah Barry [Fogle]
The family traditiohn says Annarah was jealous of the other women on the route, she rode with him every day. The children were cared for by an older
daughter. Alfred died of diphtheria. Since Alfred was a Civil War veteran, Annarah received a widow's pension of $8.00 per month. She lived on the
family property in Foraker, Hardin Co., Ohio, until her death of pneumonia. This information came from one Walter Williams. Walter is a decendant of
the Fogle Family.
SHE IS BURIED IN GROVE CEMETERY, IN KENTON, HARDIN CO., OHIO. Section #3, Lot #202
