Jewish Family Trees in Europe at the time of WW 2

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to find records of people who were sent to Concentration camps? I have checked with the Auschwitz historical society and such but they have no records of the people I am looking for. I have also e-mailed the historical agent of the town they were from with no response. Any suggestions?
