I am looking for the family of Nicolai Hansen and Lisbeth Poulsdatter shown in the 1865 census of Norway in Hedmarken county. with Son's Johannes, Matias and Ludvig, one of his children was Nicolas(ai) who married Julia and shows up on the 1850 census in the Dakota Territories with 3 children Jacob, Nora A, and Ludvig. Matias married Gena Haakonson, niece to the King of Norway, and had 8 children 5 of them lived to maturity. Hattie, Mina, Roy, Ludvig and Nordahl. Ludvig Nikolaisen, married Agnete Henriksen also of Norway in the Hedmarken county. and together they had 9 children, only 4 of them reaching maturity, Henry and Lena, twins and George and Nora, my Grandmother. the names Furness and Bergen come up but I am unsure why. if for birth place or place they left Norway from. Anyway I am having a hard time finding the proper people here in the states, except in that the brothers all named their children after each other's children. I need someone who may have known these people in either US or Norway as I'd like to know the names of the last 2 children born to Agnete. I know the names of 3, Velga, Hattie and Mina, but am having trouble discovering the other 2. one could be Nordahl. but am not sure if the Nordahl burried in the olsen cemetary in Winfred South Dakota is Ludvig's child or Matias's child found on the 1880 census. if there's anyone that can help, we'd much appreciate it. thanx

Hei Lars Magne

Ludvig fikk en sønn Brøttum i RIngsaker i 1882, tema her http://www.disnorge.no/slektsforum/viewtopic.php?t=82371&highli...

Mvh
Marit

You also write that one of Nicolai Hansen's sons were named Nicolas(ai), as I understand it, and that he shows up in the 1850 census with 3 children. That is impossible, since Lisbeth Poulsdatter would be born in 1813, she would be 20 in 1837, and it would be impossible for her to have a son born early enough to have 3 children by himself in 1850.

Please make your part of this discussion more comprehesible.
