About Tantanka Iyotanka (Jumping Bull) .

Jumping Bull (originally Sitting Bull), father of the famous chief Sitting Bull, was a very rich man. He owned a great many ponies in four colors.

When his second son, Jumping Badger scored his first coup at age 14, Sitting Bull conferred upon him the name Sitting Bull, and took the name Jumping Bull for himself. (Utley, 14,15)

He died in battle against a Crow of stab wounds at over 60 yrs of age.

His legacy is preserved by the Sitting Bull Family Foundation, Inc.
