W.B. Veasey, Jr., age 87, of Okeechobee, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.

Mr. Veasey was born on Oct. 22, 1915, in Durham, N.C., to Walter B. Veasey, Sr. and Annie Roberts Veasey.

Mr. Veasey moved to Okeechobee in 1940 and married Mary Jewel Lightsey in 1942.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a sister; a brother; a son; and a sister-in-law.

Survivors: wife, Mary Veasey of Okeechobee; three daughters, Mary Ann (Carl) Norfleet of Aripeka, Doris Dye of Okeechobee and Roxie Veasey of Athens, Ga.; one son, Walter (Marie) Veasey of Okeechobee; four granddaughters; and one great-grandson also survives him.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
