About ALBERT MONROE FARRAR

Albert & Lenas' 2 sons Clarence & Clark both served in World War II, serving in Asiatic Pacific War Theatre. When Albert & Lena were first married they lived east of Steelville, Missouri, where they homesteaded property on Federal Government Land, and lived in a tent until they built a squatter's cabin which burned, then they moved to the Bill Gregory homeplace until they sharechopped for Gus Ristic on Dry Creek, after which they purchased property at the court house door, which originally belonged to Soward family, kinfolk of Lenas. There was an old house on property that had been there during Civil war, made of hand hewn logs. In the drought of the 1930's the family lost all their cattle and had very hard times. Albert had Tracoma in his eyes, and was blinded because there was no cure for it in those days.
