About Abraham Fowler

Abraham, son of Deacon John, and Mary (Hubbard) Fowler: As a sergeant in the local militia, he fought and survived at the "Great Swamp Fight" in Rhode Island (just by the Connecticut eastern border) during the Brutal King Philip's War between the New England militias and the Narragansett tribe during December 1675. (See Walter D. Edmonds "The Musket and the Cross" pages 450-451). He married on 29 August 1677, Elizabeth Bartlett who was born March 1653 and died 4 October 1742. They lived in Guilford Connecticut.

In his later years he served his community as Justice, and in 1712, served as the legal administrator of the transaction of lands from his brother, John Fowler, "...unto the sd Samuel Cruttenden to him his heirs and assigns for Ever.", dated and sealed at Guilford March 31, 1712.
