About Abraham Granger, Jr.

Captain Abraham, as he was always called, was a man more prominent in town matters than his father. He repeatedly held office, being a deputy to the General Court or Colonial Legislature in 1774, 1775, 1776, 1781, 1782, 1783, 1784, 1785, 1786 and 1787. His name often appears in the town records, and he was a man of force and character. He lived in the north part of the town, probably near his father's fam. He was captain of the militia company, and, despite his years, marched to Boston at the "Lexington Alarm" in 1775.
