War of 1812
Four days after his marriage to Susannah Roush, Abraham Roush enlisted for service in the war of 1812. From the papers of the War of 1812 pension claim, it appears that Abraham Roush volunteered at Point Pleasant, Va. Sept. 28, 1812, and served as a private in Captain A. Van Sickles' Company of Virginia Militia and was discharged March 27, 1813. The services of Abraham were around Lake Erie. He was a fifer during part of his service as a soldier. (Daniel, his cousin and brother of Susannah, enlisted with him and served in the same company.)
