His son William went first to Thornton, N. H., and afterwards to Peacham, Vt, and his descendants are to be found among the Varnums of Peacham, and the West. His will dated “22 Dec. in the year of his Majesty's reign annoque Domini 1758,” is filed at the Probate records at East Cambridge. In it he leaves his wife Rebecca “one full third part of my estate during her natural life”; to his daughter “Abigail wife of Robert Blood of Dunstable, 13£ 2s. By the non-mention of Benjamin, 7th child, it would appear that he died shortly after his father.
- Benjamin did not die as a child. He moved to Sutton, Quebec 1770. He then moved to Vermont (c. 1790), returning to Sutton in 1800. He died in Sutton, 1810, a United Empire Loyalist.

Children of Abraham4 Varnum and Rebecca (IIIM) Shead ([IV]) were as follows:
66 i Benjamin5 ([V])
67 ii Lucy5 ([V])
iii Sarah5 ([V]) , born 14 Apr 1756. She married on 10 Dec 1794, William DOBLE ([V]) . maybe died 12/10/1794? WLander@aol.com I originally picked up Sarah as wife of William Doble in Buckfield, Oxford Co., ME., one problem is that in "The History Of Buckfield, Maine" Sarah's surname is listed as Farnham. I was unable to trace them from Buckfield to a previous place of residence, and so things stood for over twenty years (while I was moving around in the Navy & then into retirement back home in Tennessee). Just a few months ago I was informed that her maiden name was Varnham and that she and William had come from Braintree, MA., then just a few weeks ago someone in a chat on AOL said that the Varnhams were from Dracut. http://members.tripod.com/~Troutwind/index.html Bill Lander Cleveland, TN.
