Phillip Yarnell is believed by Quakers in the Jamestown, Ohio area to be a relative of Beulah (Yarnell) Little. He is a semi-famous for his time period, Circut riding, traveling preacher/evangelist/theologian. Phillip Yarnell was one of the first Quaker theologians to teach that it is ok to defend oneself in time of war.
Phillip Yarnell's Great Grandson was Confederate Brig. General William Yarnell Slack. Slack died from wounds received in the Battle of Pea Ridge in Arkansas, March 7, 1862.. Slack was born in 1819.
