About Adam Abrahamse van de Caab

Abrahamse,Adam [freeborn] x 1768 Christina Maria van de Kaap [Marriage Record] in Annexure B: Marriages & other Unions between Coloureds 1652 to c.1795, "Groep Sonder Grense". H Heese

Abrahamse=Abrahamzoon contracted to Abrahamsz at the time, referring to father or possibly grandfather Abraham, who could have been a VOC slave, but some European Dutch names came about this way in those days also. Several Cape marriage register entries have individuals with the surname "Abrahamsz" annotated as having arrived from the Netherlands. The form Abrahams is quite common in Cape Town today among both Christians and Muslims, along with Abrahamse, most likely being 2 or more different families. Biblical or classical names being popularly forced upon Cape slaves, many were named Abraham!

However, could this be Adam's paternal grandparents?
