About Adam Johannes Christ

Adam worked as a sailor on the KEITH shipping lines, helping to bring immigrants and goods from England and Holland to the American Colonies. He brought his oldest three sons, Heinrich, Georg Wilhelm, and Joachim Michael to New York on June 13th, 1710. John Conrad Weisner was their godfather and looked over their welfare during the move to Schoharie and then to Tulpehocken. When the invitation was made to move to Tulpehocken, several young men, led by Joachim M. Christ were sent to clear the land. Adam maintained a home in Neuenberg am Rhein and fathered 4 more children there. He visited his sons in America in 1742 and saw his namesake grandson as an infant. His daughter Maria Christina became the ancestor of the Brazilian part of the family.
