Adam Richard Perkovic was born June 28, 2009. Only about a week after his birth he was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with HSV Type-1. Adam clung to life in the and intensive care unit for over a week. After various CT scans, spinal taps, various testing, and recovery at the Mario Lemieux Foundation's Children's Home, Adam made a full recovery and returned home to his mother Jocelyn Moffitt and Edward Perkovic just six weeks after his birth. Though born prematurely, Adam is growing, learning to talk and walk at an accelerated rate in comparison to other children born his age found out through standardized testing. He is very intelligent and suffered no complications due to his medical emergency.
