Sweerus Teunissen, successor of Jan Barentsen Wemp, deceased, requests his money fro Aert Pietersen Tack, who left this place, because he is the principal creditor of said Aert Pietersen Tack, and further requests that the estate of Aert Pieterse n Tack be sold to satisfy a mortgage.

Page 227.--Dec 18, 1664.--Aeltje Wygert, widow of Albert Gybertsen, deceased, appeared before Gysbert Van Imbrock, Jan Willemsen Hoochteylingh, Scheepens, about a heifer which her husband had bought from the restate of Aert Pietersen Tack. -------------------- Note: (Christened 26 July 1626,Roman Catholic Church,Etten,as Arnoldus Tack). Aert married first Annetje Ariens(Adriaens).He accumulated an excess of debts,bonds and court actions,leading him to abandon his wife.He may have gone back to Holland,supposedly illegally marrying an unknown woman(no record of a remarriage found).The deserted wife,Annetje,was too distressed to present her daughter,Grietje/n (second child of the couple),for baptism. Annetje's mother,Grietje/n Jans,was there to present her grand daughter for the baptism,using the name Grietje/n Vooght(Vooght means "Guardian" in Dutch),leading to much confusion. Annetje was awarded a divorce from Tack 21 August 1664 at Ft.Amsterdam.His possesions were auctioned off.All officers of Justice were authorized to apprehend Aert Tack,to be "brought to court and be severely chastised with the rod,having two distaffs over his head,and to be branded with two marks on his back,and further to be banished from the province",dated 21 August 1664. He was brought to New Amsterdam in 1652 by Adriaen van der Donck,to serve him 6 years,in what is now Yonkers,NY. Aert and wife Annetje are ancestors of John Hasbrouck van Vleck (1899-1980),winner of the 1977 Nobel Prize for Physics with Philip W. Anderson and Sir Nevill Mott ; also of Capt.Cornelius Marius Schoonmaker (1839-d.1889 Port of Apia,Samoa); Theodoric Romeyn Westbrook (1821-85).
