About Albert Gallatin Hunt

When the Civil War came there was a division among the brothers, two entering the Confederate and two the Federal Army. Albert served in the Confederacy under Gen. John Morgan. After the war he was in business in Lexington, and for 16 years he was the County Clerk of his county as a Democrat. In 1871 he married Miss Mollie A. Craig in Lexington.

The family moved to Dallas in 1892. Albert was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Albert was survived by his wife and their five children: Mrs. William C. Karsner of Lexington, Mrs. W. S. Chambers, Mrs. Robert (Mary) McGarvey, Gavin Drummond Hunt, and Albert Gallatin Hunt of Dallas.

NOTE: For genealogical information on his parents and ancestors, see the lengthy obituary published for his brother George W. Hunt in The Dallas Morning News on December 1, 1912.
